Home-made Blue Cheese Dressing or Dip

Never buy bottled dressing again. This simple blue cheese dressing is super tasty!

1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp white pepper (if you like black pepper,  it is fine as well just keep in mind that it is stronger than white pepper)
1/2 parsley
1/2 tsp Worcestershire
1/4 cup milk
2 tbsp vinegar
2 cup mayo (real mayo not mayonnaise dressing)
3/4 cup- 1 cup blue cheese crumbles

mix dry ingredients. Add Worcestershire and milk. Whisk together and let set while you measure the mayo. Add the vinegar to the milk mixture and whisk. ( the milk will start to curdle a bit, this is normal.) Whisk in the mayo. Mix in the blue cheese crumbles and store. Always make atleast 4 hrs ahead of time so they flavors have time to meld together. The longer it's refrigerated the better!

Horseshoe Sandwich

In the mood for some yummy regional comfort food. Try a horseshoe sandwich. An open-faced sandwich piled high with yummy goodness and easily tailored to your favorite things.
What you will need:

  • -Fries- crinkle cut are best
  • your choice of meat (i used ground beef this time but roast beef is amazing as well)
  • Texas Toast
  • Cheese sauce (recipe follows)
Layer : toast, meat, fries, cheese sauce.  Enter the yummy horseshoe!

Cheese Sauce: ( tweak the cheese sauce to your liking and make it your own secret recipe!)

  • 1 stick of butter
  • 8 tablespoons of flour
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • about 3 cups of milk
  • 1/2-1 cup beer ( I like Guinness)
  • 4 cups of cheese ( sharp cheddar is my fav)
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire
  • paprika
  • cumin
  • salt
  • pepper ( or chili pepper if you like heat)
Melt the butter over medium heat, then dissolve flour into butter and cook garlic. (some people also like onions) Start with 2.5 cups milk and 1/2 cup of beer and then add as needed. Sauce should be thin, but not watery. To thick and it doesn't absorb into the sandwich. Wisk together well.  Add mustard, Worcestershire, and seasonings and continue to mix well. Add cheese 1/2 cup at a time and stir until dissolved. Pour cheese sauce onto your sandwich and dive into your horseshoe!

Your favorite chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting

Nothing tastes better than the marriage of chocolate and peanut butter. Add a few simple ingredients to your favorite box cake mix and cream cheese frosting, and you have a cake to call your own.

Take your favorite chocolate cake mix and bake per instructions. I always bake for the shortest amount of time --listed on the box. (27-32 mins, cook it for 27mins). The cake will always continue to cook for some time while it cools down, so there is no need to over bake it.

To make the frosting use 2 jars of your favorite cream cheese frosting per one jar of peanut butter. Take the time   to mix well. The peanut butter will make the frosting thicker, so make sure that your cake is completely cool before frosting.

ENJOY!!!
